By accessing or using Ingredify ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

Ingredify is a web-based tool that allows food producers to scan ingredient lists using optical character recognition (OCR), detect UK allergens, build food products, and generate ingredient labels. The Service is provided by Ingredify ("we", "us", "our").

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.

3. Free Plan

The Free plan includes up to 100 OCR scans and a maximum of 10 products. Once either limit is reached, you will need to upgrade to the Pro plan to continue. All other features (labels, allergen detection, PDF download) remain available on the Free plan.

4. Pro Plan & Billing

• The Pro plan is billed at £9 per month.
• Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds are provided for partial months.

5. Fair Use Policy

Fair use means your average monthly scan usage must not exceed 1,000 scans per month, calculated as a rolling average over any consecutive 3-month period.

For example:

• Month 1: 800 scans, Month 2: 1,200 scans, Month 3: 900 scans → Average: 967 scans/month ✓ Within fair use
• Month 1: 1,500 scans, Month 2: 1,400 scans, Month 3: 1,200 scans → Average: 1,367 scans/month ✗ Exceeds fair use

If your usage consistently exceeds the fair use threshold, we reserve the right to:

• Contact you to discuss your usage needs.
• Offer you a custom plan suited to your volume.
• Restrict scanning functionality if no resolution is reached.

We will always attempt to contact you before taking any action. This policy exists to prevent abuse and ensure a quality service for all users.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to interact with the Service.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent.

7. Disclaimer

Ingredify provides OCR scanning and allergen detection as an assistive tool. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all ingredient lists and allergen declarations on your food product labels. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of OCR results or allergen detection. Always review generated labels before use.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ingredify shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to inaccurate allergen detection, labelling errors, or regulatory non-compliance.

9. Data & Privacy

• We store your account details, scanned images, ingredient data, and product information securely using Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
